No Further Action Possession Of Indecent Images Swinton police station
Rebecca Forbes attended Swinton police station after being contacted by the client who had a volunteer interview. He had previously been interviewed two years earlier and a phone download had been conducted in the meantime.
Rebecca liaised with the officer and highlighted at the time of the alleged offences the client was very young himself. The officer was willing to drop the case against the client if he was willing to admit the offences and apologise.
Rebecca weighed up the client's options and felt it was in the best interest of the client to speak frankly on interview and fully comment, making admissions but also apologising for his previous actions.
The officer contacted us a week later to confirm that the matter was dropped against the client, following an investigation that took over two years. The office felt, following our representations, that it would be unfair to punish the client who was now 19 for offences committed when he was 15/16 years of age. Our client is now free to continue with his life without this looming over him.
