Harrow Crown Court - Client Acquitted of Sexual Assault 2025

Our client works as a personal trainer and instructed JD Spicer Zeb to advise on allegations concerning sexual assault. A client made allegations against our client. In particular, the complainant alleged that our client had offered a sports massage with shock wave therapy to address a sports injury that the complainant had sustained. During the massage, our client allegedly touched the complainant sexually without consent on multiple occasions. Our client was subsequently charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003; the client appeared at Harrow Crown Court for trial. Such charges are severe, with the sentencing options ranging from a community order to imprisonment. Amer Ahmad was the solicitor who conducted the case; Rishy Panesar of Furnival Chambers was subsequently instructed to act as counsel.

The main arguments raised by the Defence included the following:

  1. Any touching which took place between our client and the complainant was consensual at all times.
  2. None of the touching which took place was sexual and was strictly professional.

We are delighted to report that, after a brief deliberation, the Jury returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts that our client faced. Consequently, our client was acquitted of all charges, allowing them to move on and continue to build their business.
