General Changes to the Points Based System
GENERAL CHANGES TO THE POINTS BASED SYSTEM
- The Home Office have announced that the Rules are being changed to allow for greater flexibility in relation to applications which fail to submit all the specified documents in support.
- However, it should be noted that the Rules will still set down exactly how and when flexibility can be exercised, and that this change does not amount to a general relaxation of the Rules.
- The current Rules only permit electronic bank statements to be submitted as evidence in support of applications when an account is only held on-line. This Rule will be changed to allow all bank accounts to be evidenced by electronic bank statements, not just “on-line” accounts.
- There will also be changes to the evidential requirements regarding payslips which are submitted in support of applications.
