Affray Not Guilty - Snaresbrook Crown Court 2022

Our client was one of four defendants charged with Affray

Police were called to an area in East London in June 2020 due to reports that there were a group of males in the street with weapons. One of the informants stated the males were armed with knives, metal poles and hammers. CCTV captured our client holding two large knives threatening the other males.

The defendant was arrested and gave a prepared statement stating that he was acting in self defence. His case was that he was at work and used reasonable self-defence to fight off the attacking party. Our counsel was successfully able to cross-examine the officer in the case who made a number of fundamental errors in the investigation. The jury accepted that our client's actions were reasonable and he was unanimously found not guilty by the jury.
