Luton Magistrates court suspended sentence indecent images 2023

We acted for a client charged with possession of serious category A indecent images. Despite the starting point being 12-month custody as the images were serious. We managed to persuade the Magistrates Court to retain jurisdiction and adjourn for a pre-sentence report and to impose a suspended sentence order in the magistrates court. The case could have been sent to the crown court for greater punishment and with more costs incurred.
