Not guilty Assault police 2021
Police attempted to stop a young black man in the evening. Umar Zeb defending was able to show that Proactive MET violent task force plain clothes police officers had failed to Identify themselves clearly that they were police officers.
Our client and the officer was injured, both thrown into the busy Dual carriageway as a result of the incident. We were able to successfully argue a mistakenly held belief of self defence that our client was being attacked. Had our client been found guilty he would have undoubtedly faced a lengthy prison sentence.
