About

Not Guilty Knife possession - 2021

Our client was charged with having a large blade in a public place. Our client was attacked by a gang of youths and assaulted. During the incident the gang discarded the knife which our client picked up and took to his care home to hand in. Brent Police were called by a care worker to report the assault but our client was charged himself. We were able to persuade the court to find our client Not Guilty. Our clients defence of reasonable excuse for taking the knife to a safe place was successfully argued by Umar Zeb at trial at Brent Magistrates Court. Had our client been convicted he could have received detention in a young offender institution.
