R v G M - Case Dropped Assault Police - 2019

Our clients case against him was discontinued after an alleged violent assault on police officers at his home address where they tried to force entry. Our client was accused of possession of an offensive weapon and alleged to have attempted to head butt an officer. We gave our client the best advice from the outset at the police station. We advised our client to plead not guilty and to elect crown court trial as in our view the police were not acting in the execution of their duty. We continued to attempt to obtain body worn evidence from the CPS. At the crown court prior to trial the prosecution offered no evidence and they failed to provide the body worn evidence. If he had been convicted our client could have received a prison sentence
