JD Spicer Successfully Secured Crown Court Bail Appeal for Client Arrested at Manchester Airport arriving from the Middle East
Our client who lived in the Middle East was arrested at Manchester Airport due to failing to surrender for a court hearing at Cardiff Magistrates Court in January 2025 for offences.
We were instructed by the client’s wife who was still oversees and did not know where her husband was. We worked tirelessly making enquiries and found out that although our client was granted bail, the Prosecution served a bail appeal meaning he was remanded back into custody for 48 hours.
The Bail Appeal application was due to take place at Manchester Crown Court and was then moved to Cardiff Crown Court last minute. We instructed counsel to deal with despite the venue change. Due to our client originally living in Saudia Arabia he posed a flight risk. However, we managed to convince the court to grant our client bail.
We worked swiftly to gather the information and present a strong argument as to why our client should be granted bail. We communicated with the client’s wife who was oversees throughout the process, keeping her updated on the matter.
We have substantial experience of dealing with clients on an enhanced private basis to provide a first-class service
